My name is Vergal Walton. I live in Uitenhage, a small town near Port Elizabeth, South Africa. This is my first website and blog. I picked up my first Jack Higgins book when I was still a teenager. So ever since that time I cannot put down a Jack Higgins novel when I start with reading a new one.

Did you notice when J.H. switched from Jamesons to Bushmills ?
His latest books always mention Bushmills – at least one early one “Night Judgement at Sinos the hero only asks for Jamesons. Did he get a better offer from Bushmills.
What is the name of that champagne that some of the characters drink? I think it’s Krug.
The character of Sean Dillon is perfect for the movies. Why has the movie industry not made a series about his numerous adventures?
Congratulations on the website. Very well put together. Like yourself I’ve enjoyed reading about Sean Dillon since he first came to my attention delivering ‘Medical Supplies’ to the former Yugoslavia in the early nineties, and I’ve eagerly awaited each installment in the years since then. I actually bought a botle of Krug a few weeks back. Hard to get actually, even here in Ireland, pricey, but Dillon/Higgins knows his drinks. Delightful stuff. Already started saving up for the next bottle. As for The author Mr. Jack Higgins, May God bless him and may he keep thrilling us and new readers of his work for a long time to come. His knowledge of world historical events is insightful, and his use of actual events in the North of Ireland, including the peace process and use of actual Irish and international political figures in his work gives it a uniquely Irish flavour.
I wonder if there will ever be a sequel to the Eagle has flown. It;s just not right to leave Kurt Steiner’s fate up in the air.
First discovered JP as Martin Fallon. Been following
him ever since in all his pen names. Great site.
Agree with Paul Efres, Dillon is a natural for the
movies a la James Bond.

I have recently discovered jack Higgins on the library shelf. splendid read. exciting stories. I like to read in biblio order especially with the same characters involved. Love Ferguson and Dillon. I have recently finished Bad company and Dark Justice which are ‘03 and ‘04 books. Can you please let me know if I have missed any previous books with my favorite characters so I can start from the beginning.

A big fan
I loved the older books 1970’s and 1980’s. My favorite characters will always be Devlin, Martin Fallon, Simon Vaughn and Martin Brosnan. The one character I would loved to have read about again is Jago from a Season in Hell. With some development he would have been great.
I too love jack higgins books i have been reading them for many years,i find them so good i read them twice,most of my jack higgins books i get from charity shops,i too like is earlier novels to me they seem to have more to say about life and the world,my partner now reads selected novels and she enjoys them also,my favorite characters are first sean dillon then liam devlin i think there should be more liam devlin novels .
Wondering what the name of the book is where Dillon is captured by the Croatians and Ferguson blackmails Dillon into working for him?
