In Vietnam he saved the life of Anne-Marie Audin, one of the best photographers there was, making war photography of the Vietnam war. This was a the beginning of an extraordinary relationship.

One interesting thing is that in Eye of the storm Dillon is quite a hot headed person who loses his temper on a few ocations. In all the later books, Dillon never ever looses controll of himself again. One more thing: He loves Krug champagne, non vintage.
